From the first visit with Neil, we knew that L&E were the company we wanted to work with and you have not disappointed. Everything has been delivered on time, on budget, with nothing being too much trouble and no dramas. Even with Rosemary’s never ending list of extras! All executed with professionalism, efficiency and a sense of humour.



Matt has been an absolute treasure, he has consistently come up with good ideas and helped us see that maybe his ideas are the right ones! We have been happy to be guided by his experience and know how. Steve is someone we’d like to keep! His work is exemplary and he just gets on with it, like Matt, no requests seem to phase him. Toby & Sam have always been polite and friendly and their outstanding stonework, amongst everything else, is being constantly admired. Not forgetting the Dan’s - “Airzee”,Barlow & Wills. All of whom have delivered excellent work.

Everyone asks us if we’d ever do this again. We reply that we don’t intend to, but if the right opportunity came along we wouldn’t hesitate, if we could work with L&E to do the build.

Parts of the Old Cider Barn date back to medieval times, presenting unique challenges that required not only exceptional craftsmanship but also a deep understanding and respect for historical architecture. Neil and his team approached the project with unparalleled expertise and dedication, ensuring that every detail was meticulously attended to and that the barn's rich heritage was preserved and enhanced.

The quality of the work done by Lilburn Elliott is simply fabulous. From the careful restoration of ancient beams to the seamless integration of modern amenities, every aspect of the rebuild was executed to the highest standard. Neil's professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence were evident throughout the entire process.

We cannot speak highly enough of Lilburn & Elliott. They are without doubt the best builders we have ever encountered. They built our new home on time and within budget. We are delighted with our spacious, light and airy new Veterinary surgery. We had a clear idea of the type of build and fit out we wanted but there were so many technical questions based around the detail! Lilburn and Elliott were supportive, informed and realistic and helped steer us through some difficult decisions. At the time we selected Neil & Duncan of Lilburn & Elliott Construction from our tender shortlist, we were already impressed with their open and collaborative manner. They are excellent problem solvers taking a pragmatic approach and considerable pride in their work - getting their colleagues to do so too.

A comment we had from a friend visiting after the project completion who held a senior position in a national construction company was, "You can tell this was built by people who cared". We would say this was a very accurate summary of our experience throughout the build. As with any building project, not everything went as originally intended, but Neil & Duncan always made sure we were informed and any implications made clear. They were also very flexible to our changes of mind too!

With a strong focus on quality and a desire to create a lasting final impression, Neil & Duncan have provided us with a finished house admired by many. We have literally had people stop us as they pass by to compliment us on how the house looks now.

We started with a tired, much altered 1930s dormer bungalow. Following the vision of our architect Stephen Guard, Lilburn & Elliott have given us a lovely home to suit the local area - thank you.

Lilburn and Elliott construction recently built our dining room extension, deck area and garden landscaping at our home in Galmpton. All the work was completed to an excellent standard with full attention to every detail. All the team were polite, sociable and very hard working. We were kept informed at every stage and consulted frequently. Work began punctually every morning and the site was left clean and tidy in the evenings. We are delighted and very proud of our finished house.

I approached Lilburn & Elliott for a large building project of two barn conversions and two new builds with surrounding landscaping for a self-catering complex. I am incredibly pleased with the result. Thank you for allowing me to discuss my ideas, I totally relied upon you to carry out my vision.

During the project, from planning to completion, I have found Duncan and Neil very approachable, professional and reliable. We were very pleased with the work Lilburn and Elliott did for us at our cottage. They were reliable and the work was of a high quality with good attention to detail. They were conscious of the need to keep to budget and always advised us in advance of costs for any additional work we requested so there were no unpleasant surprises at the end of the contract. We would not hesitate to use them again ourselves or to recommend them to others.

Duncan’s project management of his team and sub-contractors was exemplary, as was Danny’s who took charge in Duncan’s absence.

The building team turned up on time, worked extremely hard and to a very high standard, we were impressed with the thoroughness of their work. They were all extremely pleasant and helpful.

As with most building works there were a few issues and changes, which were resolved promptly and professionally.

Following completion of the work, we composed a snagging list, which Duncan and his team dealt with straight away.

It was a pleasure having our Brewery built by Lilburn & Elliott Construction.

Lilburn & Elliott provided a great service during the renovation of Seacroft. The quality of work was excellent and they were very helpful with the changes that always occur when renovating a Victorian house.

Lilburn & Elliott and team restored Nutcombe Farmhouse in 2016 after a terrible fire which destroyed the whole second floor.

The house is over 250 years old so an experienced team was vital with the right skills to ensure the house was restored back to its forma glory.

The team were amazing as conditions were hard. Lilburn & Elliott were always happy to help with any queries we had regarding restoration.

We had all the confidence that the work was done correctly and delighted with their work. Nutcombe Farmhouse is now a beautiful home.

Lilburn and Elliott did a complete renovation and built an extension to our bungalow in Thurlestone. The build went very smoothly and it was well organised, they were great communicators with emails and photos, as we were not always on site.

The whole team and sub contractors were a delight, the project was completed to a high standard, we would highly recommend them.
